Personal and Group Life Wellness Coaching FAQ

  1. What is Life Wellness Coaching?

Coaching is guidance, motivation and inspiration for people wanting to make changes within themselves and their lives. It is profoundly different from general advice, consulting, counseling and/or therapy.  It is designed to forward and enhance the process of self-awareness, life learning, effectiveness and fulfillment. The focus is on the NOW, where you are now and developing a plan of action to put your life on track to be where and what you want to be.

  1. What is the structure of Life Wellness Coaching?

Most sessions are done by phone (depending on location, in-person sessions may be arranged).  Sessions will last 60 minutes and are held once a month.  Clients will have unlimited e-mail support (client initiated) and weekly 10-minute support calls.
Homework assignments will also be incorporated into the coaching process.

  1. How long is the Life Wellness Coaching process?

That is really up to the client.  A client should commit to a minimum of four sessions for an opportunity to experience results.
Many clients continue longer but what works is really up to the client.

  1. What about confidentiality?

Trust and confidentiality are the two key essentials to the client/coach relationship.
The client and the coach are mutually responsible for confidentiality within lawful limits.

  1. How do you choose a Life Wellness Coach?

Look for a coach that is accredited by ICF (International Coach Federation).
The ICF is an organization that sets and monitors international standards for professional coaching ethics, training and practices.

Check into references.  A coach will have clients who are satisfied and have begun to make significant changes in their lives.

Take into consideration whether the coach is a good match.  An effective coach for one person may not be a good match for another.  A personal rapport and chemistry is important to the success of the coaching process.  To find a good match take the time to speak directly with the coach and ask as many questions as you can.  You want to be at ease and completely comfortable with the coach so you can develop a deep trust that is necessary for results.
